About

I’m a Senior UX/UI Product Designer, creating cross-platform experiences for advertising, tech, social, global television and video streaming platforms. I'm currently engaged in component-driven visual journalism, creating storytelling formats and a Design System to support BBC News journalists with their global coverage.

My career has provided me with a range of broad experiences, that has helped me work well across start up, corporate, agency, and live studio environments. As a UAL Alumni from London College Of Communication, I offer a skill set that follows a user-centric train-of-thought, producing responsive, evidence-based design with an accessible and commercial mindset.

Priya Balsara - Product Manager

Apple

"I really enjoyed working with Scott at Channel 4, he looks at each design challenge with a creative yet pragmatic eye. His super friendly and approachable nature is also really welcomed. Everything always feels like a truly collaborative effort with Scott; his determination to take on board stakeholder considerations whilst still staying true to the users that he's designing for is truly impressive and much appreciated!"

"I had the pleasure to work with Scott at Channel 4, where he was recruited to drive forward key initiatives around onboarding, engagement and personalisation. Scott quickly established credibility through his output, but had especially high impact working with difficult stakeholders, where he proved calm, objective and patient while working through complex problems. He used service design techniques and strong interpersonal skills to forge consensus with colleagues of diverse opinions and business agendas. Scott is talented, obliging and humble. I would happily work with him again."

Bede McCarthy - Head Of Product

Meta

"Scott led the UX on a couple of Ford’s digital projects; he’s a great designer with a good eye for detail and isn’t afraid to challenge bad design when he sees it! He also has a great attitude - very collaborative, excellent communication, friendly, and easy to work with."

Frederick Hommel - Account Manager

Ogilvy & Mather's GTB (WPP)

Louise Frost - Senior Content Strategy

Ford

"Scott's outstanding dedication is a rare, yet much needed, breath of fresh air. Without Scott's considerable contribution, and unmatched pace, our EMEA project would be dead-in-the-water. Scott's expertise make him a force to be reckoned with. He not only has vision, he has creativity and an innate ability to capture exactly what the stakeholder describes."

Neurodiversity, values & ethics

Sharing what we learn is an essential part of human development, what excites me most about UX Design is its fairness to incorporate different people's needs, perspectives and contributions.

Throughout my professional career, this democratic and unified approach has been the most effective, inspiring and rewarding process for me as a neurodiverse creative.

In this video example, I present the team's inclusive design principles regarding accessibility needs for an ADHD user.

I recently signed The Tech Pledge which aligns with these design values. You can find more information about making products that contribute good to our society here.

Learning from others helps us craft products that can benefit us all, allowing us to combine accessible functionality with an all-inclusive form. I value being part of a team that creates meaningful product development because it's an engagement that helps to optimise all of our lives.
